About King Spa

The very first King Spa opened in New Jersey in 2001, bringing the first authentic Korean spa (“K-spa”) to the United States and introducing a long-standing Korean tradition to a new part of the world. Byung (“Donald”) T. Kim immigrated to America from South Korea in the 1970s to give his family a better life. And when he came, he came with a dream to bring a piece of his home with him to share with others. He made that dream a reality with King Spa. And he’s happy to see that people from all walks of life and cultures enjoy coming to King Spa for holistic healing and relaxation. King Spa is a unique Korean-inspired spa paradise that is known in Korea as “Jjim-Jil Bang.” A Jjim-Jil Bang spa is a traditional part of Korean culture that thrives today. With its own unique cultural blend, King Spa offers an all-in-one relaxation experience where guests can come and stay all day to relieve stress from the mind and body. King Spa & sauna has grabbed the attention of the American media and public with its globally competitive new concept of a traditional spa with a modern twist.

Our mission is to deliver the most relaxing and luxurious spa environment for our guests to enjoy while upholding our authentic Korean traditions of holistic healing in a friendly and peaceful community environment. Our saunas were built using real minerals that induce healing at different levels in the mind, body, and spirit. At the center of everything we do is our desire to serve our guests as they embark on their own healing journey with us. As we like to say at King Spa, “come to heal and feel.” And the happiness of our guests is always our top priority. We know that our customers are looking for a place to relax the fatigued body and stressed mind. We also know that sometimes we do not have the time to go on expensive vacations. The King Spa & Sauna is the answer to these issues and we do our best to provide our friends and family the most luxurious experience. King Spa is a state-of-the-art Korean spa, sauna, and bathhouse where you can come to enjoy three levels of relaxation and healing with 10 different saunas and healing rooms, indoor and outdoor therapeutic pools, a world-class outdoor bade pool, hot tubs, steam rooms, therapy rooms, massages, Korean body scrubs, esthetic treatments, V-steams, delicious food, and other Korean spa services.

We aim to provide the highest quality and most luxurious spa and sauna experience possible. That’s why we use ancient Asian healing treatments that utilize natural earth elements with medicinal properties such as crystals, salts, soil, stone, and wood to relax the mind and body and restore health and well-being. What Makes King Spa Unique?

We’re the only spa in the U.S. using patented technology for our Bul-Ga-Ma sauna that uses real wood for heating. Our founder, Byung, developed this special technology to allow visitors to this room to have a truly one-of-a-kind experience. We also boast the hottest sauna in the world – our Bul-Han-Jing-Mak sauna which is the only spa in the U.S. to use real oakwood in our heating process. And all of our saunas use radiant heat, not electricity, like other spas. This enhances the healing process of the saunas and allows you to have the most authentic experience as you relax.

Your daily admission pass includes access to: 

  • Locker Room & Steam Rooms
  • Saunas & Base Rock Room
  • Outdoor & Indoor Bade Pools
  • Jacuzzis & Cold Plunge Pool
  • Media Room & Indoor Lounges

Your pass also includes:

  • Spa uniforms (all sizes available. Must be worn during your visit)
  • Complimentary toiletries
  • Towels
  • Shampoo/conditioner/soap

Please Note:

  • Remember to bring your bathing suit if you plan to visit our outdoor or indoor bade pools (you cannot enter these pools without appropriate swimwear).
  • Spa treatments, products, food & beverages are available for an additional fee
  • You cannot leave our facility once you have entered. Please remember to bring all your belongings with you BEFORE entering the spa.
  • Valid government issued photo ID (pictures of ID’s and foreign driver’s licenses will not be accepted)
  • Swimsuit (Cotton & denim swimwear are not allowed in the water)
  • (Swimsuits are available for purchase in the Locker Rooms.)
  • Spa lounge uniforms & towels are provided during your stay at King Spa Virginia. 

No, we are on a first come first serve basis at the moment. 

To see our current admission fees, please click on “Buy Day Pass.” Prices are subject to change. Please note that some holidays that fall on a weekday will require a weekend rate. To see which holidays require the weekend rate, please see the list of holidays in the following question. Admission does not include treatments, products, food and beverages.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted under any circumstances. Minors under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult 21+ years old and of the same gender. A maximum of 3 children per adult of the same gender are permitted.

(Minors will need a school ID or copy of birth certificate)
